Edin
Mustajbegovic

My work is at the intersection of technology, management and fundamentally how we organise human endeavour to bring the future we want to reality.

I love to help people transcend problems and create futures they want. It's one of my favourite things to do. Enlightenment in the age of tremendous change requires listening to the past and letting new thoughts emerge.

I don't know my real place in this work, I don't even know if its right and I don't know if that matters. What matters is that it is, that it is out there in the world, for you to feel and to experience.

Change is the life-force on its own. The only way we move forward is to bring ideas to the light of day, to this life-force that is change, to be tested, augmented and made better.

If you are interested in the future of management, how to make problems so interesting and solutions so compelling that everyone wants to work on them, get in touch...

Learning & Skills

Over the next few years, I am focusing on transforming the practice of management:

  • by creating a consultancy that focuses on the leaders and managers and their relationship with the systems they manage. Check out Action Twelve.
  • by focusing on how technology transforms the practice of management and work in general.
  • by transforming industries by learning through consulting to build partnerships by identifying and investing in critical challenges. Check out Induo.tech.

I am also studying the following:

  • Impact on distributed technologies such as blockchain & holochain.
  • Digital transformation case studies from around the world.
  • Next generation operating models, how to transform traditional organisational structures into innovation enabling structures.

History

From early years I knew I was going to make technology my career, both in creating new technology and helping organisations get the most out of new technology.

I entered an experimental college in Perth called Advanced Manufacturing Technologies Centre (AMTC) with the intention of studying robotics. AMTC was funded by government and by industry and was established to provide an agile learning environment that can keep up with technology advances. As courses at the centre were under development I studied for 1.5 years for a Diploma in Electronics Engineering, with plans to switch to a Diploma of Mechatronics Engineering once the course was available. Unfortunately the centre ran out of funding, so instead of pursuing further formal education, I turned my education and learning towards experiential learning. My rationale was that technology was moving too fast and the education sector was not (one of the reason I chose Advanced Manufacturing Technologies Centre). I was fortunate that the mid/late nineties marked a period of rapid change, and my self-taught skills in programming were in high demand, especially my ability to design complex web-based systems.

As you can see from my work experience, I’ve worked on a variety of problems and solutions. I take my career very seriously and pay close attention to where each step is taking me. Most importantly, I choose each job, not only for the obvious benefits, but how it will allow me to learn and grow.
